Truly a thorough roast of a subpar finished knife.

Get the sheath wet.... Ittl turn into mash and fall apart... lol I've had this issue on many of their knives I've brought camping and backpacking.

FWIW my X and I landed the "rural delivery" contract with Canada Post for a small area in central Cape Breton. 38 miles or so ... day in / day out 2/3 dirt roads ... in best conditions. Almost half the time, mud. Prolly 1/3 the time, snow. Or slush. Or ice. /*grin*/

Coolio! That had me feelin' Bark River vibes... Thumb ramp and blade shape... But that swedge kinda snapped me out of it. Odd, to me, that there was no ja-limping on the thumb ramp. Nice knife. They seems to have nice stuff. A little pricey I think?

Looks like a decent hunting piece! Same size blade as a Buck 110, which is my main hunting carry. And the shape of it looks like it would be good at both skinning and boning. Thanks for the look at it, buddy!

not sure if you've tried those leatherneck minis, but I just did some side by side box cutting between that and mini tac, both tanto, and I found the mini much better, well with the additional weight imo

Regarding the Mini-Tac, I like the ball lanyard idea for indexing your finger. I have the Tonto version, and I cut the sheath so there was no retention. I then thought since it is so thin, to epoxy the sheath to my old Maxpedition velcro closure wallet. This was to keep the knife upright in my pocket with card carrying capability, and it worked. I could index the handle and draw the knife out of my pocket. The caviat is like you said, the edge retention. I stopped carrying it for that reason, because I may have well carried a butter knife. The other reason I stopped is the lack of retention in the sheath. Sometimes the knife would partially slip out when I was seated. I know, I should have had the fore thought to see this, but this is why we knife people are a unique breed.

Hey Johnny Juke , very good idea and good neck knife collection,plus the Buck 102 got me wondering how come I don't have one, and I'm a big fan of the Mini Tac Clip Point 👍 But all of those are fantastic pieces. 😊

N690 steel of ER has excellent edge retention as long as the company has been using it and has learned to improve its performance. If you see Dbk's video on the Er Selvans, you will be able to verify the high performance of this steel. I personally use their little t4000c satin and I love it.

Awww, man, did I just see a Street Scalpal 2.0? One of my all-time favorite small fixed blades. I see that Enuff too. A knife I love enough that I bought it twice.

I have the same knife but with Damascus blades. Limited run. Just got it today. It doesn’t have any of the problems that one has. Beautiful fit and finish. Great snap on both blades. I hope you get a better one next time or they fix that one.
